Refund Policy

When a refund is available on digital services, what falls outside it, and how to request and receive one.

This Refund Policy applies to digital Services supplied by Riskscape (Pty) Ltd, including subscriptions, prepaid credits, metered API usage, data products, reports, and downloadable datasets. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

1. Digital delivery and general rule

Riskscape's Services are delivered electronically. API calls and processing are consumed as performed, and data products or downloads may become irreversibly available once accessed. For that reason, charges for consumed usage, completed processing, or accessed downloads are generally not refundable unless the Service is defective, materially misdescribed, not delivered, incorrectly charged, or a refund is required by law.

Nothing in this Policy limits a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

2. When a refund may be available

We will assess a request where:

  • the same transaction was charged more than once;
  • the amount charged does not match the confirmed order or applicable usage rates;
  • payment succeeded but Riskscape did not provide access within the stated delivery time, and we do not provide access within a reasonable time after notice;
  • a purchased download or dataset is materially corrupted, incomplete against its description, or technically unusable, and we cannot repair or replace it within a reasonable time;
  • the paid Service materially fails to match its description and we cannot reperform, repair, replace, or provide a reasonable alternative;
  • Riskscape terminates a prepaid Service without providing the remaining paid value; or
  • applicable law requires a refund.

At our option and as permitted by law, we may first correct the billing error, restore access, reperform the Service, replace the file or dataset, provide a proportionate service credit, or refund the affected amount.

3. Unused purchases

You may request a refund within seven (7) calendar days after an initial subscription purchase, prepaid-credit purchase, or one-time digital purchase only if:

  • no API request or other billable usage has occurred;
  • no dataset, report, or download has been accessed, generated, or made available for your use;
  • no material Console feature or paid service has been used;
  • no custom processing or professional work has begun at your request; and
  • the request is otherwise lawful and consistent with the applicable order.

Once digital performance begins with your consent, a statutory cooling-off right may cease to apply to the extent permitted by law. If a non-excludable cooling-off or cancellation right applies, that right prevails over this section.

4. Items generally not refundable

Unless required by law or caused by a qualifying Riskscape failure, we do not refund:

  • API calls, records, processing units, data volume, or other metered usage already consumed;
  • subscription time already provided;
  • a data product, report, export, or download after it has been accessed or generated;
  • prepaid credits already consumed, expired under disclosed plan terms, or granted free of charge;
  • custom datasets, configurations, or work produced to your specifications after work begins;
  • charges resulting from leaked credentials, shared accounts, or use by your authorised users;
  • fees paid to another provider, bank, or network that are not retained by Riskscape, except where law requires otherwise; or
  • dissatisfaction based only on an outcome, estimate, score, or result that falls within the product's disclosed data and model limitations.

5. Subscription cancellation

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal as described in the Cancellation Policy. It does not automatically create a refund for the current billing period. If the Consumer Protection Act applies to an early cancellation of a fixed-term agreement, any refund and reasonable cancellation charge will be handled in accordance with that Act.

6. How to request a refund

Email info@riskscape.pro and include:

  • the account and organisation name;
  • invoice number, Paystack reference, or transaction date and amount;
  • the affected product, plan, API, or dataset;
  • the reason for the request and relevant evidence; and
  • the preferred contact details for follow-up.

Report a duplicate, unauthorised, or incorrect charge as soon as possible and within thirty (30) days after the charge. This reporting period does not remove a longer non-excludable legal right.

We may verify the requester, account authority, delivery status, download event, usage logs, and payment records. We will acknowledge the request and aim to give a decision within fifteen (15) business days after receiving all reasonably required information.

7. Approved refunds

Unless another method is required, an approved refund is returned through Paystack to the original payment method. We aim to initiate it within five (5) business days after approval. Paystack advises that, after processing, funds may take approximately three (3) to ten (10) business days to appear, depending on the bank and payment rail.

We are not responsible for a delay caused solely by a bank or payment network, but we will provide reasonable assistance and a refund reference where available. If the original method cannot receive a refund, we may request verified bank details through a secure channel.

8. Chargebacks and disputes

Please contact us first so we can investigate and resolve the issue promptly. Starting a chargeback does not expand your contractual refund rights. We may provide the payment provider or bank with order, acceptance, authentication, delivery, download, usage, communication, and refund records relevant to the dispute.
